Conservation & Restoration of Fine Art & Historic Works on Paper in New York
About JD Conservation, Inc. and Jonathan P. Derow, Art Conservator
I got involved in Paper Conservation more than 20 years ago as an undergraduate at Harvard. I took classes and wrote my senior thesis with Marjorie Cohn, Head of Conservation at the Fogg Art Museum, and then got a Masters in Paper Conservation at the University of Northumbria in England, graduating first in my class.
In 1995, after three years at The Brooklyn Museum, I set up my own studio, JD Conservation, Inc., located in Brooklyn, NY, and have been treating works of art on paper and historic documents for museums, galleries, auction houses, dealers, frame shops, and private clients. You can view selected restored art work in my gallery or feel free to read the list of clients I have helped and the artists whose work I've restored.
I perform all art restoration and conservation work myself and do not use assistants, interns, or students. More information about JD Conservation, Inc. may be found here.
